Private Investigator Training

What is it?
A book, actually, and not a particularly useful one at that. The Seven Day Detective is not so much an investigations manual, as a set of feel-good tips and techniques to handle your emotions. Fans of the chicken soup for the soul series will be right at home here, but the more cynical – or successful – private investigator would best look elsewhere. Not that I’m saying it’s bad; I’m sure it will make you feel so much better about yourself… but it won’t make you any better as a detective, and that’s what I’m looking for.

What does it offer?
Words of wisdom and encouragement for those feeling emotionally disturbed by the suspected infidelity of their spouse. Again, this is great if you’re worried or upset, and will even give you some good advice on how to prove their guilt (or innocence). But, in the end, this is not written for other investigators; it’s not a training manual, or a how-to guide, or even a set of tools. One thing it does offer though, is an insiders perspective for someone completely new to the trade.

What does it cost?
Normal price for a book – $14.97. Nothing much to say here, except that I would recommend you order the physical copy. Books like this are a real pain to read online. Plus, it’s actually cheaper to buy the hard copy, then to buy it as a file on your computer, so I would definitely go that route.

And in conclusion…
On the whole, this would not be my ideal choice. But, as someone with some experience, you might have a different perspective. For a total beginner, it serves as an easy-to-read introduction, and if you’re only worried about one thing (that your spouse might be cheating on you) you won’t need anything else.
